The ranch is located in Childress and Cottle Counties. The mailing address is the town of Childress, which is about 10 miles north of the ranch main gate. Childress is about 100 miles from Amarillo, Lubbock 138, Wichita Falls 107, Dallas 240, Fort Worth 220, and Oklahoma City is approximately 200 miles. Besides an entrance on US Hwy 83, the Buckle L also has two additional entrances on the north property line from county roads.

Description
The ranch is comprised of numerous types of terrain, from rolling plains with excellent ground cover of native grasses and lightly scattered brush to hills and canyons with a little heavier juniper, mesquite and brush cover. Along both sides of the North Pease River the soil is rich and the terrain generally flat. There are over 400 acres of cultivated land within the Buckle L, with literally thousands of acres along the river which could be turned into additional wheat fields and food plots. Seven sets of working pens distributed throughout much of the ranch make for great cattle capabilities. Five of these are full "working pens" with water and electricity. Several traps help in gathering the cattle. The main pens have scales, hydraulic chutes, loading chutes, covered working areas, and a medicine room. There are two houses on the property. The owner's home features a nice metal roof, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, completely updated, large open floor plan containing the kitchen, living room, dining room, fireplace and a covered porch. Manager's home is across Hwy 83 on a ten acre parcel. It is also a 3 bedroom 2 bath home. Both homes have large attached garages. The Buckle L is home to a wide variety of native game. With all the food plots and the feeding program, the wildlife stays in fantastic condition. The best whitetail to date is 193 typical with mule deer in the 160s up to 180 B&C so far. The water on the ranch is hard to describe and needs to be seen in person to understand why this ranch attracts and holds such a good number of quality deer.
