Description
The Groesbeck Creek Ranch is a great combination hunting and cattle or horse ranch. The ranch is diversified, offering farmland, grassy pasture areas with trees and brush, and CRP fields lined with very thick shelterbelts. Some of the pastures have brush controlled, with only the nice, large trees remaining, and some of the pastures have been kept wild for the wildlife. It is very common to see several large groups of whitetail deer grazing on the winter wheat and traveling through the ranch in the morning and evening. The shelterbelts that line the CRP fields make for excellent quail hunting and many coveys can be seen coming in and out of them while traveling the ranch roads. Deer bed down in the abundant grasses in these CRP fields during the day and sometimes can only be seen from elevated areas. The large spring fed pond that is located near the lodge is full of fish and gets covered with ducks in the winter months.
